Ryan is an early career researcher at Griffith University, Australia. He has expertise in the movement and ecology of threatened sea turtles, as well as links between the spatial configuration of coastal habitats and the roles that animal-derived functions play in maintaining resilient ecosystems. Ryan develops and applies innovative techniques, including machine learning, to solve ecological problems and provide useful tools to support species and ecosystem management. He is currently interested in the following topic areas:
Climate change effects & mitigation
Ecosystem health & function
Threatened species
conservation
Connectivity & Resilience
Coastal wetlands
Artificial Intelligence
